General Description A warm welcome to Peter Secord House c.1782, a relaxed bed and breakfast with comfortable rooms, good food, natural surroundings, free-parking, centrally located in the heart of wine country. We look forward to sharing our home with you and offer guests gracious hospitality and excellence in service while visiting one of the most beautiful areas in Canada. The Georgian farmhouse is Historically designated and is the earliest Loyalist home in Niagara, built by American Loyalist Peter Secord, it is the only one of its kind in Upper Canada. Peter's home survived the War of 1812 as it was put to service as a field hospital for the troops on both sides, served as an Inn in the 1800's and continues the tradition today. The Inn's location makes it easy for visitors to navigate around the Niagara area. Close to Five Rows Winery, Ravine Winery, Chateau des Charmes Winery, Collaneri winery, 5 minutes to Canada - USA border, short drive to old town, Niagara Falls, Niagara Parkway, Shaw Theatres, Fort George, museums, 5 minute drive to the largest outdoor shopping mall in Canada, walking distance to restaurants, wineries, golf courses, walking, biking trails and convenient to more than 30 estate and craft wineries. Guest rooms are large, tastefully furnished and restored with heart pine floors, ensuite bathrooms, comfortable queen size beds, central air conditioning and high speed wireless internet. Choose to relax in the guest lounge on main level or on the terrace level veranda with porch rockers. Casual Mediterranean breakfast served in the dining room. Complimentary wine tasting vouchers for wineries and breweries are included with your reservations. We are an adult non-smoking facility and so sorry we cannot accommodate pets. Directions COMING FROM TORONTO: Take the QEW towards Niagara Falls, exit at 38B - Niagara Stone Road. You will see signs for Niagara-on-the-Lake exit. At the second set of traffic lights turn right on to York Road - towards St. Davids/Queenston, you will pass world class Chateau des Charmes Winery and Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery. Follow York Road to the first intersection - Four Mile Creek Road, turn right and we are the sixth building on the left. COMING FROM FORT ERIE/BUFFALO/PEACE BRIDGE: Take the QEW towards Toronto or north, exit at 34 - Mountain Road. Turn right on to Mountain Road (east.) At the second set of traffic lights - St. Paul Avenue turn left, it becomes Four Mile Creek Road. The roadway in to St. Davids is part of the Niagara Escarpment and is panoramic. Drive approximately 3km on Four Mile Creek Road and we are the stone building on the right hand side. (note: if you miss the Mountain Rd. exit then take the next exit 38 - there is no 38B in this direction, turn right on to Glendale and then right at York Road and follow the directions above.) COMING FROM QUEENSTON/LEWISTON BRIDGE: Take the first exit after the toll booth - then turn left on to Town Line Road. Go down the hill and at the stop sign turn right on to Four Mile Creek Road. Drive approximately 1km and we are the stone building on the right hand side (you will see the sign on the lamp-post.) PLEASE NOTE THAT MAPQUEST AND GPS DIRECTS TRAFFIC TO CANADA OVER THE QUEENSTON/LEWISTON BRIDGE. DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS THIS BRIDGE IS EXTREMELY BUSY AND THE WAIT TIME MAY BE LONGER THAN ANTICIPATED, YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER CROSSING IN TO CANADA AT THE PEACE BRIDGE IN FORT ERIE OR THE RAINBOW BRIDGE IN NIAGARA FALLS FOR A SHORTER WAIT TIME. Breakfast Casual traditional Italian breakfast is served in the dining room.
